Altobelli Blugold Promise Scholarship (2188)

Awarded to an outstanding incoming freshman student who has graduated from high school in Wisconsin or Minnesota, has been accepted for admission to UW-Eau Claire and demonstrates significant financial need as verified by the UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office.

To be considered, students must rank in the top 25% of their graduating classes and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT), have a well-rounded high school record of academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities. In general a student who has a zest for life and a desire to get the most out of their college education will receive primary consideration.

This scholarship has a primary preference for an incoming freshman from St. Louis County, Minnesota and a secondary preference for a student planning to study in the College of Business. If neither criterion is met, the scholarship should be awarded to an incoming freshman with declared financial need, regardless of residence or field of study.

$1,000 award available for freshman year. Recipients who have a successful freshman year and maintain good academic standing, according to the standards at UW-Eau Claire, by the end of their first year will receive a $500 scholarship their sophomore year.

Business and Estate Advisers Return-to-Learn Scholarship (6059)

Two scholarships of $1,000 are available.

This scholarship is for students taking classes at UW-Eau Claire - Barron County. It will be awarded to incoming or continuing students who have had a break of at least 2 years in their education. Recipients must intend to begin their education in the business area, may express interest in entrepeneuership, and plan to work in the Barron County area. There is one fall award and one spring award.

Charles L. Szews Business Scholarship (2369)

Two scholarships from $500 up to $1,000 are available.

The scholarship is awarded to the president of the UW-Eau Claire College of Business Student Advisory Council (SAC). The recipient must be an active leader in college or department organizations. The College of Business SAC is composed of the leaders of all the College's student organizations. The group meets monthly during the academic year to provide feedback to the dean and the college's administrative team, engages in various activities that support the College, and organizes different activities to promote interest in the College. The president is responsible for working with the group to set their annual goals, plan the meeting agendas, and run the monthly meetings.

Citizens Community Federal Scholarship (2112)

This scholarship is currently unavailable.

Available to UW-Eau Claire juniors or seniors who have been admitted to the College of Business. The recipient must have full-time student status, good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75, and demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA.

The recipient must have graduated from a high school in a community serviced by Citizens Community Federal. These communities are as follows: in Michigan (Rochester Hills); in Minnesota (Albert Lea, Blue Earth, Fairmont, Faribault, Mankato, Minnesota Lake, Oakdale, Red Wing, St. James, St. Peter, Wells) and in Wisconsin (Altoona, Barron, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Eleva, Ellsworth, Ettrick, Ladysmith, Lake Hallie, Mondovi, Osseo, Rice Lake, Spooner, or Strum).

Donor Background:

This scholarship was created in 2011 by CCF Bank, to help academically qualified students achieve their dream of obtaining a college education.

College of Business Blugold Promise Scholarship (1975)

Awarded to an outstanding incoming freshman student who has graduated from high school in Wisconsin, been accepted for admission to UW-Eau Claire and demonstrates significant financial need as initially reported by the students and verified by the UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office.

Preference is given to a student with a major in the College of Business.

To be considered, students must rank in the top 25% of their graduating classes and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT), have a well- rounded high school record of academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities. In general a student who has a zest for life and a desire to get the most out of their college education will receive primary consideration.

$1,000 award available for freshman year. Recipients who have a successful freshman year and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 by the end of their first year will receive a $1,000 scholarship their sophomore year. If the criteria continues to be met, the recipient will be renewed at $1,500 for their junior year and $2,000 for their senior year. If the criteria is met and the scholarship is renewed, the recipient is required to submit a resume to the Foundation office during their junior year. For their senior year, the recipient must complete a mock job/internship interview and send proof to the Foundation office.

One scholarship of $2,000 is available.

Open to full-time College of Business (COB) majors who are economically disadvantaged as determined by FAFSA) and/or members of any of the following American ethnic minority groups: African-American, American Indian, Southeast Asian or Hispanic American. Students should have good academic standing, and a GPA of at least 2.75.

Craig A. Johnson Scholarship (1318)

One scholarship of $1,500 is available.

Awarded to a nontraditional (25 or older) College of Business student with junior or senior standing, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, enrolled in at least nine credits a semester, and has financial need as proven by the FAFSA. Applicants may be returning for a second baccalaureate degree in business.

Preference will be given to individuals who work part-time to support their educational expenses.

Donor Background:

Created by Mrs. Mary Ann Johnson Ogan in memory of her husband, Craig. The scholarship is a demonstration of their commitment to improving educational opportunities for adult business students.

Denise Macenski (Derks) earned her BBA degree from UW-Eau Claire as an accounting major and has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. She is the Director of Logistics at Zimmer Spine in Minneapolis, MN, where she is primarily responsible for supply chain management. Denise decided to sponsor a Blugold Promise Scholarship to afford a student the same opportunity she was given as a student.

Dietlin Family Scholarship (2568)

One scholarship of $500 is available.

This scholarship is available to a full-time student in the College of Business with at least sophomore standing. Recipients must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need and be employed to help pay for their education.

Donor Background:

Katie Dietlin graduated in May 2018 with a marketing degree. Between receiving significant scholarship support, student employment and leadership opportunities with the Foundation, and acting as her own financial advisor throughout college, Katie completed her degree in three years, free of debt. During her time at UW-Eau Claire she discovered her commitment to helping others with personal finance and 'paying it forward' through philanthropic support.

Junior/senior scholarship: Open to College of Business (COB) majors who are economically disadvantaged as determined by the FAFSA and/or members of any of the following American ethnic minority groups: African-American, American Indian, Southeast Asian or Hispanic American. Students must be full-time (12+ credits) during the semester the scholarship will have been received, have good academic standing and a GPA of at least 2.75, and have involvement or leadership within the University or with campus organizations.

Donor Background:

This scholarship was created in 2000 by the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company and its parent company, SAB Miller Brewing Company, to honor Leinenkugel's, one of the Chippewa Valley's oldest businesses, and to demonstrate both companies' commitment to students and scholarship.

One scholarship of $1,000 is available.

Sophomore award for students of sophomore standing: Open to College of Business (COB) majors who are economically disadvantaged as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and/or members of any of the following American ethnic minority groups: African-American, American Indian, Southeast Asian or Hispanic American. Satisfactory completion (grade of C or better) of at least three of the following pre-business courses: ACCT 201, ACCT 202, ECON 103, ECON 104, OR IS 240, full-time student standing (12+ credits) during the semester the scholarship will have been received, good academic standing and a GPA of at least 2.75.

James W. Boyken Diversity Scholarship (1342)

One scholarship of $900 is available.

Provides financial incentives to student leaders who are African American, American Indian, Asian or Hispanic who have shown leadership ability and involvement at the University. Significant involvement will be measured by the student's participation in overall campus activities as well as involvement in Office of Multicultural Affairs activities and programs. Applicants for this scholarship must be full-time students in good academic standing, sophomore standing or above.

It is preferred that the recipients be Native Americans and/or students with an interest in business pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Jennifer Alexander Memorial Scholarship (1805)

One scholarship of $1,400 is available.

Awarded to an outstanding junior or senior accepted into the College of Business. Applicants must have a demonstrated passion for their field of study (evidence of this could include participation in an internship, study abroad, student-faculty collaborative research, entrepreneur program participation, sales competitions, student investment management program participation), show potential for success as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 or better, and be held in high regard by peers and faculty, as demonstrated by leadership positions held in campus student organizations AND reference from one COB faculty member.

Donor Background:

This scholarship was created in 2007 in memory of Jennifer Alexander, a 2006 UW-Eau Claire graduate with a bachelor's degree in finance. Jennifer died suddenly from a heart condition while working out near her home in Minneapolis, MN. This scholarship reflects Jennifer's passion for her work, sports and friends, her determination to succeed and to do the best in any endeavor she undertook. She had a vibrant personality, and was able to talk to anyone. Her smile made you feel welcomed. Jennifer's parents, Diane and Harry, siblings Matthew and Melissa and fiancé, Curt Mayenschein (a 2007 graduate), want this scholarship to be a lasting tribute to Jennifer and her short, but meaningful life.

Jim and Sara Mellinger Information Systems Study Abroad Scholarship (2030)

One scholarship of $3,400 is available.

Applicants must be full time students and be in good standing with UW-Eau Claire. Students who are majoring in Information Systems and have been accepted to study abroad programs offered by the Center for International Education will be given preference. If no applicants are majoring in Information Systems, any student in the College of Business is eligible to be considered. The scholarship should go to a recipient whose benefit in receiving it would likely be transformative - i.e. for someone who hasn't had prior cultural immersion experiences.

Preference should be given to a student who has some level of financial need but the department will make the final decision on the recipient who would benefit the most from the award.

John and Jill Magliocco Blugold Promise Scholarship (1977)

Awarded to an outstanding incoming freshman student who has graduated from high school in Wisconsin, been accepted for admission to UW-Eau Claire and demonstrates significant financial need as initially reported by the students and verified by the UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office.

First preference is for a student majoring in Economics and a second preference for a student with a major in the College of Business.

To be considered, students must rank in the top 25% of their graduating classes and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT), have a well- rounded high school record of academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities. In general a student who has a zest for life and a desire to get the most out of their college education will receive primary consideration.

$1,000 award available for freshman year. Recipients who have a successful freshman year and maintain good academic standing, according to the standards at UW-Eau Claire, by the end of their first year will receive a $1,000 scholarship their sophomore year.

John C. Dennison Memorial Business Scholarship (1886)

One scholarship of $6,000 is available.

Awarded to a sophomore, junior, or senior student majoring in a business area other than accounting and has been admitted to the College of Business who comes from a 'disadvantaged' background.

A student may not receive the scholarship more than once.

Donor Background:

This scholarship was established by a gift from the Estate of John Dennison. Mr. Dennison graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 1972 with a major in accounting and minor in economics. He had a distinguished career working in the healthcare industry as a business officer for hospitals. His last job was as Chief Financial Officer of Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. Mr. Dennison died on December 14, 2008, at the age of 60.

Keith & Charlotte Donnermeyer Blugold Promise Scholarship (1961)

Awarded to an outstanding incoming freshman student who has graduated from high school in Wisconsin, been accepted for admission to UW-Eau Claire and demonstrates significant financial need as verified by the UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Office.

Preference given to a student with a major in the College of Business.

To be considered, students must rank in the top 25% of their graduating classes and have a minimum of a 25 composite on the ACT (or comparable SAT), have a well- rounded high school record of academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities. In general a student who has a zest for life and a desire to get the most out of their college education will receive primary consideration.

The Donnermeyers are 1975 graduates of UW-Eau Claire who now reside in Sacramento and San Francisco, CA. Keith Donnermeyer, an accounting graduate, is a partner with Deloitte & Touche, an international provider of financial services, and Charlotte, a biology graduate, works in family services in Sacramento.

L.J.B. Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation College of Business Scholarship (2576)

One scholarship of $1,000 is available.

This scholarship will be awarded to a sophomore student in the College of Business. The student must have a GPA between 2.75 and 3.25. Preference will be given to a student who graduated from a rural Wisconsin high school. Preference will also be given to a student who plans to return to a rural area to work.

The scholarship can be renewed for one more year provided the recipient continues to meet the GPA requirement.

Donor Background:

This scholarship is funded by Larry Brandl and the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation.

Lorentz College of Business Memorial Scholarship (0950)

One scholarship of $2,000 is available.

Open to College of Business majors with a preference for management-entrepreneur majors who have been admitted to the entrepreneur program and exhibit strong academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, and an interest in entrepreneurial ventures.

Donor Background:

Dr. Richard D. Lorentz came to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1971 as a faculty member in the department of Business Administration. An UW-Eau Claire alumnus, he also held both a master's degree and Ph.D. from the University of Northern Colorado. Throughout his career he taught courses in management, sales, insurance, accounting, economics, finance and small business management. He served as director of the Small Business Institute until 1994, and his student consulting teams received many regional and national awards under his leadership. He was a key player in setting up the College of Business Entrepreneur Program in 1994 and was named the first recipient of the Dennis L. Heyde Chair of Entrepreneurship. He retired from the faculty in 1998 .

Dr. Lorentz also worked with the athletic programs of the University as a member of the Chain Gang for the football program, timer and scoreboard operator for the men's and women's basketball teams, and timer for the track program for 25 years and was an avid supporter of university athletics.

The Lorentz College of Business Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Kevin E. Murphy, a former faculty member of the department of accountancy. Other faculty and friends of Lorentz also contributed to the funding of the scholarship. In 2013, Barbara Lorentz decided to merge the Lorentz College of Business Athletic Scholarship, which was created in 1994 by Dr. Richard D. Lorentz, with this scholarship in order to better serve students.

This scholarship is awarded by a selection committee composed of: Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) state advisor or a representative as selected by the PBL Executive Board. FBLA state advisor or a representative as selected by the FBLA Executive Board. Eligible recipients must currently be members of Wisconsin Future Business Leaders Association (FBLA). Must be of senior standing at the secondary level. Preference may be given to a business education major, but it is not required.

Marc Dybdahl Memorial Scholarship (0902)

One scholarship of $1,000 is available.

Applicants should be full-time students with junior or senior standing and a marketing major. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is required, and the applicant must show involvement or leadership within the University or with University clubs, activities, or student societies. The recipient must be actively involved with promoting the responsible use of alcohol by the University community.

If there is no qualified marketing major, a second preference is for a student with a major within the College of Business.

Scholarship Background:

Marc Dybdahl was a student at UW-Eau Claire from August 1992 to December 1994. He was majoring in marketing and was also a member of AMA. He had many friends at school due to his easygoing, friendly personality. Unfortunately, his enjoyment of a good time ended his life. On December 21st, the eve of his 21st birthday, Marc went out to celebrate in tradition with his friends. After drinking excessive shots, he was taken home and left to sleep it off. He never woke up. He completed 2 1/2 years at UWEC -- a school he loved. His future ended abruptly. The aim of this scholarship is to have another young person complete their education without incident.

The recipient must be accepted to UW-Eau Claire and a Wisconsin resident. Primary consideration would be given to those students who have indicated a desire to major in business, teaching, nursing, and/or social work. The focus of the scholarship would be students of great financial need.

The scholarship offers an award for full tuition and is renewable for three additional years, provided the recipient continues to have financial need and is maintaining satisfactory academic progress, meaning attainment of a 3.0 average GPA, or the specific waiver of this requirement by the donors, Michael J. and Ann M. Roberts.

Rath Foundation Academic Scholarships (1282)

This scholarship is currently unavailable.

The purpose of this scholarship is to attract and retain highly academically qualified students to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

To be eligible for this award, students should have maintained an overall minimum GPA of 3.8 in high school, finished in the top 5% nationally on the composite ACT; applied to UW-Eau Claire within two years of high school graduation; and be a college freshman (or sophomore or junior in the case of Wisconsin college transferees) intending to seek admission to the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Business.

Preference shall be given to Wisconsin residents, though non-residents are eligible if no Wisconsin residents of equivalent quality are available.

The award is renewable for $16,350 for up to four years contingent upon satisfactory grades of a cumulative GPA and major/minor GPA of 3.0.

One scholarship of $2,500 is available.

Available to College of Business students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher with a preference for a finance or business major with economics emphasis who demonstrates potential for leadership.

The student must show financial need as established by the Financial Aid office.

May be presented to a first year student, and thus may be renewable for up to 4 years. One $500 award is available per year, so if the scholarship is renewed, no additional scholarships will be selected. Once the planned gift is realized and the account becomes fully endowed, each award should be a minimum of $1,000 with the number of student awards to be determined by the annual income of the endowed fund.

One scholarship of $1,300 is available.

The recipient must be admitted into the College of Business, be a full time student of junior standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above, and have potential for leadership as demonstrated by college activities. The recipient must have participated in university, college, or departmental organizations.

The award must be given to someone who will not receive a reduction in another type of aid (excluding work study).

If there is a tie during the selection process, if one of the applicants is an accounting major, that student is chosen.
